3 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day if You’re Single

Posted on February 14, 2019February 14, 2019 by aliciazitka

It’s February… which means that red & pink hearts, bouquets of roses, chocolates and teddy bears are everywhere we look. Whether you’re in a relationship or you’re flying solo, there is something to celebrate every Valentine’s Day… and that something is LOVE, of course!

Please understand, I’m not just talking about “goo-goo ga-ga, we are going to get married” kind of LOVE. If you’re in a relationship, great! Here are some Affordable Date Ideas. However, if you’re feeling a bit down this year because you don’t have a date, take a moment and feel all of the LOVE that surrounds you! I truly believe that Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate ALL of the LOVE in our life… the love between family members, friends and even the LOVE for yourself (because you are fabulous)!

Here are 3 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day if You’re Single!

  • “Galentine’s Day” – Host a gathering for your best gal pals to celebrate your friendship! Do things that are lighthearted and fun… Try to cook a meal or bake a fancy sweet treat or order some delicious takeout! Follow your feast with a showing of your favorite Rom-Com. (Mine include “Grease”, “Dirty Dancing”, and “Sweet Home Alabama.) Make some hot-cocoa and play board games or pop some champagne and make a bucket list of things that you want to do together. Love between friends is something that should be celebrated! Cheers!
  • Family – Spend Valentine’s Day with your family and let them know how much you care! Valentine’s Day is a special day to celebrate love so celebrate with the people who have loved you the longest… your family! If you don’t live close enough for a visit, Facetime your family members and let them know that you love and appreciate them. If you are lucky enough to be able to physically visit your family, bring flowers and a note expressing your appreciation for all that they do for you. If it is possible for you to spend a little time with your family, cook dinner together and look through old photos or videos. The love of family is strong and lasting… celebrate that on Valentine’s Day and every day!
  • “Self Love Day” – With or without a Valentine’s Day date, you are FABULOUS and deserve to be loved! Celebrate Valentine’s Day by practicing self care and LOVING yourself a little more! Spend time improving your mind, body, and spirit. Try reading, working out, cooking a healthy dinner, or meditating. You could also have a “spa night” where you take a bubble bath, paint your nails and apply a face mask. If you don’t really feel like staying in, volunteer at a local charity like a Boys and Girls Club, nursing home, Veteran’s center, or soup kitchen. Helping others will help you feel grateful for the love that is in your heart and in your life!

My Darlings, Valentine’s Day is about celebrating all kinds of LOVE… the love between friends, family, and even the love of your own awesomeness! Whether you’re single, taken, or somewhere in between, celebrate all of the love in your life this Valentine’s Day! Celebrate Love EVERYDAY!
